CDS/SAVINGS Q & A

Q. Does the interest earned on a CD need to be reported as income?

A. Yes. The bank where you have your CD should send you Form 1099-INT each January stating how much interest you earned the previous year. A duplicate will have been sent to the IRS so the government knows about your interest earnings. If you don't receive one give the bank a call. We're sure you can get a duplicate.
