Bank of America has a new promotion that pays a $75 bonus for opening a checking account and another $25 if you use it to pay two bills online within 30 days.
Some banks, most recently Chase, make you jump through a few more hoops to qualify for this kind of bonus.
But the Bank of America offer doesn't require you to sign up for direct deposit or make any check card purchases to qualify for the money.
The only caveat we can find is that you can't have had a Bank of America checking account for at least six months. Bank of America's basic personal checking account, My Access Checking, has no monthly fee (if the account is opened online) and requires no minimum balance.
Those are two key things you should look for in any traditional checking account. (See our 7 gotta-haves for a great checking account.)
The only cost you might encounter is a $3 fee if you want your checks sent back with your statement.
Although this is a limited-time offer, no cutoff date has been set.
